Save your booking confirmation and Royal Caribbean reservation number somewhere easy to find. You will use both throughout the planning process.

• Create or sign in to your Royal Caribbean account and link the reservation under My Cruises.
• Download the Royal Caribbean app using the same email address connected to your booking.
• Review names and dates of birth on the reservation now, while there is plenty of time to correct anything.

Do this early enough that an expired passport or missing document does not become a last-minute problem.

• Confirm the passport or identification requirements for every traveler on your specific itinerary.
• Make sure names on travel documents match the reservation.
• Keep insurance information, emergency contacts, and booking documents together.
• If minors are traveling without both parents or legal guardians, ask me whether additional documentation may be needed.

Your confirmation from me will show your exact due date. Royal Caribbean's standard individual-booking schedule is generally 75 days before sailing for 1 to 4 nights, 90 days for 5 to 14 nights, and 120 days for 15 nights or longer.

• Use your Royal Caribbean reservation number when submitting payment.
• Make payments through my agency's secure payment page.
• Reach out before paying if you have any question about the remaining balance or due date.

This is when I like to make sure the extras you actually care about are handled, without buying things simply because the Cruise Planner is promoting them.

• Compare the Deluxe Beverage Package, Refreshment Package, and Classic Soda Package based on how your group actually drinks.
• Look at specialty dining if there are restaurants or experiences you specifically want.
• Compare internet options if staying connected matters during the cruise.
• Keep checking prices after purchase. Many Cruise Planner items can be canceled and repurchased if the price drops, subject to the current terms.

You do not need an organized excursion in every port. Some days are better with a tour, some are easy to do independently, and some are worth leaving intentionally unstructured.

• Book high-priority experiences first, especially anything with limited capacity.
• When using an independent operator, leave a comfortable buffer before all-aboard time.
• Check whether your port is walkable or whether transportation should be arranged in advance.
• Tell me what kind of day you want if you are unsure where to start.

Royal Caribbean check-in opens 45 days before sailing. Completing it early gives you the best shot at the arrival time you want.

• Use the Royal Caribbean app or website to begin check-in.
• Enter each traveler's required identification information exactly as it appears on the document.
• Upload the requested security photo.
• Add the card you want attached to your onboard account.
• Select your arrival time when prompted.
• Save each traveler's SetSail Pass to the app or your phone wallet when available.

This is when I like to make sure the loose ends are handled and answer the questions that only occur to you once the trip is close.

• Travel documents and SetSail Passes.
• Arrival logistics, parking, transportation, or pre-cruise hotel plans.
• Dining, drink packages, and onboard reservations.
• Port-day plans and excursion confirmations.
• Any last-minute questions about the ship, dress, tipping, or embarkation.

Your checked luggage may not arrive at your cabin until later on embarkation day, so anything you cannot comfortably be without for several hours belongs in your carry-on.

• Keep passports, required identification, medications, valuables, phone, charger, and travel documents with you.
• Put a swimsuit and anything you may want during the first afternoon in your carry-on.
• Print and securely attach Royal Caribbean luggage tags after check-in.
• Check Royal Caribbean's current prohibited-items list before packing power strips, steamers, or anything questionable.
• Remember that cruise cabins already provide towels, hangers, a hair dryer on most ships, and plenty of basic storage.
